Summary: "I loved this book so much, I named my dog after this book!"

About 30 years ago, this was one of the first books that I read, at age 4 and 5. I read it again and again. When I was 7 and we got our second dog, there was no contest, her name would be Saucy, there was no other name. I have long since lost the book, and Saucy died when she was almost 16, but I have missed both ever since. I can't have my Saucy back, but because Amazon has a network of used book sellers, it seems that I can have the book that I loved so much as a child all over again. I recommend this book highly for all children 3 to 7, and for all adults who want to remember their childhood again.

I am an English teacher today, but 26 years ago I was a four-year-old, wide-eyed, brand new reader, and the first book that caught my imagination was Saucy. A simple children's picture book about a dog that has puppies under a shed. Still, at a time when I thought "sweaters" was pronounced "sweeters", this was the book that enchanted me again and again.
